The Prada brand originated in 1913, when Mario Prada, creator of bags, trunks and leather accessories, transforms the Milanese shop of Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II into the most sought-after destination for lovers of luxury-glamor, timeless accessories. The success of the brand is however consecrated after two generations, by the niece Miuccia Prada, a great lover of theater, fashion and travel. Miuccia is first appreciated for the innovative use of materials, launching in 1985 a simple and modern line of bags in black-shiny fabric, made with parachute nylon. With her, Prada becomes an icon of exclusivity, elegance and feminine fashion, haute Couture and pret-a-porter, famous all over the world with accessories, precious clothes and the total look charmant. It differs from other Italian Maison by evoking an Italian style, simple and chic, vaguely minimal: a cutting-edge but at the same time slightly retro taste that interprets collections characterized by the research of materials and product innovation. Over the years, the Casa di Moda has gathered artists and designers around universal phenomena of Costume and Society, then rediscovered and communicated in the collections, loved by many personalities, members of royal families and famous faces of the show. Recently Miuccia breaks the mold and releases the collections from the seasons, proposing a series of "packages" in a continuous flow, and looks to the East, choosing showy patterns and bright colors. Free the creativity and the essentiality of the shapes gives way to soft and voluptuous clothes, putting aside the beloved rigid fabrics. In 1988 Miuccia designed the first Prada woman collection, followed by Miu Miu ", in 1993, the second" chic and young "line created for young women.In the same year Prada also launched the men's collection, and finally the Sport line, from 1997 , is synonymous with casual and technical clothing, and the Red line.In the 90s the Prada, Miu Miu and Prada man collections receive international awards for the excellence of Made in Italy and for fashion.
